1. I was able to enter the # and a verification code sent to me with a bluetooth keyboard connected to the phone, but then the app completely crashes with a blank white screen with the word "text" in tiny letters at top left corner of screen.

2. Entering your phone number to log in doesn't pop up the keyboard and entering it manually through a bluetooth keyboard (or any other method) is futile.

3. First thing it does is ask me for my phone number but it won't allow me to enter the number.

4. The app home page displays a text box to enter your 10-digit phone number.

5. All that is visible is barely distinguishable text in the upper-left corner of the UI that faintly reads "text." I've waited for updates, hoping the issue will be addressed, based on numerous similar complaints by other users.

7. As soon as you put in your first number of your phone number it freezes and stops.

8. Connecting to WIFI is almost a battle because the phone won't allow you to change from to 2.4ghz. I would not recommend this service to anyone unless they have a more advanced unlocked phone.

9. Touching in the text box is should bring up the keyboard but it does not.

10. Therefore you cannot put in the rest of your phone number.

11. This morning I open the app and try to put in my phone number.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix My SafeLink Issues

1. Fix My SafeLink Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart My SafeLink: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the My SafeLink App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "My SafeLink" » Open My SafeLink » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for My SafeLink » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear My SafeLink app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from My SafeLink servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "My SafeLink" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check My SafeLink app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, My SafeLink might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall My SafeLink. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall My SafeLink then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing My SafeLink not working


2. Fix My SafeLink Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make My SafeLink be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to My SafeLink not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, My SafeLink may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

I receive my safelink phone today! I was unaware, at the time, that but getting the safe link phone, it would cancel my existing credit towards my internet! And, the phone was so glitchy I have to keep rebooting it! Please cancel my safe link and I would like to re-apply for internet savings!
