1. Users collect or submit photographs of diseased plant organs and calculate the percentage of diseased tissue.
2. Through a user’s touching of the device screen, the algorithm employs user-specified values for up to eight colors of healthy tissues in the photograph.
3. The color of each pixel is then evaluated for its distance from the healthy colors and assigned a status of either healthy or diseased.
4. Users may slide a threshold bar until satisfied that diseased tissues are represented accurately before the percentage calculation.
5. Leaf Doctor performs quantitative assessments for plant diseases on plant organs such as leaves.
6. The assessment data and photographs may be sent by e-mail to any recipients.
7. Instructions for using the app are provided on the About screen.
8. The Leaf Doctor was produced by Cornell University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.
1. It comes with 100% healthy to a very sick and spotty leaf image. This app sucks every picture is apparently 100% healthy and disease free so I took a picture of a clearly dead plant and it told me it was healthy and disease freeThere is definitely somthing wrong with my plants and the app keeps saying it's healthy.
2. The science article published by the authors in APS gives important tips and is a recommended read.I was able to choose a photo that accurately depicted what was wrong with my plant but if I even so much as tapped an area of the photo to identify which parts were healthy, I was transported right back to the camera/gallery option.
3. like my plant net ap does to help identify what a plant isI wanted to actually identify the actual bug that was attacking my plant..i know what it is but need to know for sure and how to get rid of them...but your app said my plant was 100% healthy when i know that bugs are attacking it..don't understand this at all.I didn't believed others, but they were right.
4. Not helpful app.i click analize it takes a picture of a mostly dead leaf then i can choose threshhold ??? i accept it it says 100% healthy and 0% diseased.
5. No matter what threshold I select (not even sure what is it meant for), it still says my plant is 100% healthy.
6. Bye.Everytime i click analyze and choose photo, it shows plant is 100 % healthy however it is clearly shown by looking at plant the plant is diseased.
7. It happened every time, even after restarting my phone.I've got a few with fig leaf rust and this app is saying it's 100% healthy.
8. I uploaded completely destroed with some mold leaf and it told me it's 100% healthy.
9. You may need to select additional healthy areas of the leaf so that they are no longer blue.
10. Secondly, you need to touch the areas of the leaf that will be ignored (healthy green areas, lighter green stem and veins, etc.). Lastly, adjust the threshold level until the diseased/damaged areas turn blue.
11. I've done it to quite a few different plants of mine that have certain diseases I know and it keeps saying 100% healthy. What a joke app.
