1. Note that you may not be able to disable some pre-installed apps. • To see the location of your child or teen’s device, it must be powered on, recently active, and connected to the internet. • Teacher-recommended apps are only available on Android devices in the US to parents of children of certain ages. • While Family Link provides tools to manage your child’s online experience, it does not make the internet safe.
2. You can also manage in-app purchases, and hide specific apps on their device all remotely from your own device. • Feed their curiosity - It can be hard to figure out what apps are right for your child, so Family Link shows you teacher-recommended apps on Android that you can add directly to their device. • Set limits - It’s up to you to decide the right amount of screen time for your child.
3. Family Link lets you set time limits and a bedtime for their supervised devices, so you can help them find a good balance. • Lock their device - Whether it’s time to go play outside, have dinner, or just spend time together, you can remotely lock a supervised device whenever it’s time to take a break. • It’s helpful to be able to find your child when they’re on the go.
4. See a list of compatible devices at families. google. • While Family Link helps you manage your child's purchases and downloads from Google Play, they will not need approval to install app updates (including updates that expand permissions), apps you have previously approved, or apps that have been shared in Family Library.
5. Parents should regularly review their child’s installed apps and app permissions in Family Link. • You should carefully review the apps on your child’s supervised device and disable those you don’t want them to use.
6. For children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your country), Family Link also lets you create a Google Account for your child that's like your account, with access to most Google services. • View app their activity - Not all screen time is the same.
7. Whether your children are younger or in their teens, the Family Link app lets you set digital ground rules remotely from your own device to help guide them as they learn, play, and explore online.
8. Help your child make healthy decisions about what they do on their Android device, with activity reports showing how much time they’re spending on their favorite apps.
9. You can use Family Link to help locate them as long as they’re carrying their Android device. • Family Link’s tools vary depending on your child’s device.
10. You can see daily, weekly, or monthly reports. • Manage their apps - Handy notifications let you approve or block apps your child wants to download from the Google Play Store.
11. Try the Family Link parental controls app from Google.
1. Sure, this may be coming from the perspective of a 12 year old, but come on! I can't access notifications, calls, or texts. This app is great! Other than the fact that you have a certain amount of screen time, have to ask for every app, can't uninstall it, that it keeps track of your location, it drains some your battery like your battery doesn't matter, apps are blocked, and that when it locks you can't do anything; play music, use the camera, text, or even call anyone.
2. It limits your time on everything, it drains your battery very quickly, allows your location to be tracked all the time, and worst of all, can lock you out of your entire device! I might just be doing schoolwork, and it says "time for bed, come back at ____ am".
3. The things that sucks about this is that it drains the battery way too quickly, and usually I have about 3 days of battery, then my phone is on life support in 2 hours! Another thing is that when it locks, you cannot access anything and it also clears your open apps.
4. If someone hacks into the location thing, you could get kidnapped.Family link is not a good option because it counts time spent on the menu as screen time and leaves less time to use the device that it's on before you run out of screen time.
5. You can't have different screen time limits for different types of apps.
6. Better yet, even looking at your LOCK SCREEN uses screen time.
7. When you reach the limit of an app and go on it the next day, it takes a long time to re-unlock! I once had to wait literally 30 minutes for an app to re-unlock after I used my time on it up the previous day.
8. Why? Why is this necessary?? Another thing- if a parent adds bonus time, say 15 mins, as soon as they add it it starts counting down.
9. It is laggy and drains my phone's battery in a matter of an hour.
10. Then one day I could not get on my phone at all! It said "Time for bed.
11. Also, know how emergency services say not to hang up? If your phone is locked you can forget about that, because you only get one minute, making this app dangerous during emergencies.

Family Link
The child's parents has separated due to dometic violence.
The phone was purchased by the child's mum but the father set up the family Link and only added himself as the family manager. Dad is refusing to add mum as well as one of the family's manager. The device is with mum as she purchased it.
Child's name: Evelyn Kobin
Email: Evelynkobin@redacted
Mum's name: Feancy Bangsa
Mum's Emal address: feancyb@redacted
Family Link Manager: Tarmo Kobin
Email: kobinakos@redacted
*Please add the mum Feancy to the Family Link Manager so she can also monitor Evelyn's phone usage.
The father accesses Evelyn's once a week and the device is with mum and child. Mum is more than happy to provide a copy of the child's birth certificate to prove she is the child's birth mother.
The email I set up my daughters family link account for her phone was 620polly@redacted. I no longer have access to this email. We set up family link months ago. My child is 8 and really never used the phone we put it on so we went to use the phone for myself and now I am stuck with this phone pretty much locked out due to your application. I don't know how to remove it I even tried to factory reset or hard reset the phone but since family link is administrator over the phone I cannot do so. I read that under law I can ask you to remove or delete all my data. I'm not sure if that will fix the problem. I don't have the parental application on this cellular device it was originally set on because we didn't use her phone ever. I really need help getting this application removed. If someone could reach out to me asap that would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thank you
