Why should I report an Issue with Trusted Contacts?

If Google can better explain this in the Trusted Contacts app help/ support I’ll raise my rating from threeI can't get this app to progress beyond the intro screen describing the option to schedule reminders-thats when I get an error message saying that an error has been encountered regarding my location sharing permissions.

2. From Google Maps open the menu and click on Location Sharing.

3. I triple checked location share setting on their phones and on their google accounts from a laptop but could not find the setting to correct the problem.

4. After sending the request for location to the other phone, the notification comes up on the target device but the location is never autoshared, even after the specified time limit (5 minutes or immediately) is up.

5. At the top of maps in this view is an icon for the people that you are sharing with… this is where you can set in Maps location sharing.

6. I was having trouble getting their location map to show up in the Trusted Contacts app on my phone.

7. Says my contacts are sharing their location with me, but when I try to view it it says that there's no activity.

8. Both phones report location sharing is turned off when the location perm is on, and re-enabling location sharing does nothing.

9. Too bad.EDIT: I'm also having a lot of problems with location sharing.

10. Once I figured this out I was able to set everyone up so that we all could see each other’s location in the map in trusted contacts.

1. Fix Trusted Contacts Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Trusted Contacts: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Trusted Contacts App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Trusted Contacts" » Open Trusted Contacts » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Trusted Contacts » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Trusted Contacts app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Trusted Contacts servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Trusted Contacts" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Trusted Contacts app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Trusted Contacts might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Trusted Contacts. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Trusted Contacts then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Trusted Contacts not working

2. Fix Trusted Contacts Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Trusted Contacts be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Trusted Contacts not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Trusted Contacts may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
