1. In music theory, the circle of fifths (or circle of fourths) is the relationship among the 12 tones of the chromatic scale, their corresponding key signatures, and the associated major and minor keys.
2. It`s a small lightweight application of Circle of Fifths.
3. Each stop on the circle as you go clockwise from C is a key with one more sharp than the previous key.
4. At the top, you have the key of C major, which has no sharps or flats in its key signature.
5. Each stop as you go down counter-clockwise from C is a key with one more flat than the previous key.
1. Show common chord changes.Great setup but the minor chords should be indicated with lower case Arabic and Roman numerals, where appropriate.
2. It's also consistent with spelling out chord progressions, as seen in written music, such as a jazz Fake Book.
3. I have some other apps with the circle of fifths info and other things but this is the one I always pull up to use.I think it's just a picture that I can get lots of with any browser.
4. Improvements could include hearing the root note of each chord on tap maybe the whole chord on quick double tap.
5. Would be even better if you could hear any chord be played when pressing it on the circle.
6. Visually shows chord relationships, sharps and flats, and more.
7. That's because such labeling conveys a better understanding of both chord forms and nature of such cords, at a glance.
8. Coloring arrangement makes it even easier for beginners to understand the circle of fifths.I use it frequently when transposing.
9. The 3rd ring added for the sake of chord VII is generally unnecessary.
10. If this was changed slightly as mentioned, I would recommend this app to all of my pupils without delay.Works well to give you a visual of all the relative chords in each key.
11. With such a change this app would get 5 stars.PERFECT circle of fifths app.
