Foscam Customer Insights

1. It's a real inconvenience when trying to use the presets from the app and not being able to tell what view you will get when you activate them.It used to be great, now it's like there is no app, I try to see my kids while driving or at work, sometime from axcross the street in their room while in virtual classes, the app closes and goes back to black, I restart the app, nothing and if it let me see one of the cameras which I have 5 all over the house it just opens for less than a minute and close, or goes to black! Fix it please, go back to be the best!Can you plz update the app.

2. No alerts whatsoever.The Foscam app has improved since my last review but it is still lacking in some areas.. the preset functionality still cannot pick up the preset names or default snapshots from their cameras and will not allow editing of the preset names unless the preset was created by the app instead of the ones created using the web UI from a PC.

3. The process/steps in order to access the recordings on the SD card is a little tedious, quicker/easier access would be more user friendly.It does the job, but I have huge issues getting the feed to load.

4. The camera view moves every time you touch the screen, most options can only be accessed in portrait mode, the alarm is seconds after the motion happened.

5. I can see the cloud recordings no problem but I can't connect to the live camera.

6. The app is now only good for viewing the camera feed in real time.

7. The problem with that is you don't know you are logged out of the app until you either try to use it or when someone tries to ring your doorbell and it doesn't work! Complete BS.I installed it in a vacation home.

8. Awful product, app and tech support.Well it works, it will allow you to pan and tilt the camera.

9. Or you fix your subscription to connect when you try! That simple!!! Can you do this?I trusted Foscam for years.

10. I have to either reset my phone, or shut down and open the app many times every time I want to see the feed.

11. It'd be nice if the alarm events linked to the recordings saved on the SD card.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Foscam Issues

1. Fix Foscam Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Foscam: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Foscam App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Foscam" » Open Foscam » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Foscam » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Foscam app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Foscam servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Foscam" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Foscam app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Foscam might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Foscam. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Foscam then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Foscam not working


2. Fix Foscam Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Foscam be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Foscam not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Foscam may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
