1. Overall it's great for practice, but you'll need to get explanations elsewhere like tokini Andy or Genki. This has a lot of lessons that you can learn over time if you are going to be staying in Japan for a while or if you just want to watch anime without reading the subtitles! I definitely recommend it for beginners like me, especially if you need it for a friend or conversation online.
2. It offers many features that Duolingo doesn't, such as speaking practice, stroke practice for both kanji and kana, flashcards, flagging words you want to review, and theory/word explanations.
3. Otherwise, it's cute and the lessons are good.I really want to like this app! However the sound of the character pronunciation is super quiet and very difficult to hear even with my volume all the way up.
4. No ads so far.EDIT: They changed it so you can get a full score on lessons while skipping speaking exercises, so that's much better.
5. Definitely worth the price for the full course.Decent app for learning Japanese, but know this.
6. they give you lessons in vocabulary and grammar, as well as options for different words for informal or more polite speaking.
7. I paid for the full version and have been using it for 3 weeks now as a supplement to my book learning.
8. Much better than Duolingo. One of the best Japanese learning apps that I've tried so far.
9. After the beginner and early lessons it becomes quite apparent that this app was not created by people with a firm grasp on English.
10. It's an ok app, but could be betterOf all of the Japanese learning apps I have tried this one is by far the best.
11. Original review: It is annoying that it keeps recorded audio from speaking exercises and sends it to Google.
