DOGNESS Customer Insights

1. Requires that you give it audio recording and location permissions even if you don't want to use those features!App works well with the video smart feeder.

2. Keep the support coming.The only reason I gave this one start is because if the hopper is low or something happened and my baby didn't get fed, the only way I know is if I look it up on the app or sometimes a red light will show on the front of the feeder.

3. First off, the app uses 3rd party push notification solution that makes sense for regions that don't have access to the Play Store, but seem unnecessary for regions that do.

4. I would also like an option to take small video clips after food is dispensed as a secondary confirmation food was dispensed.If it worked well all the time, this is fantastic.

5. That's all it will do & I can only feed when I'm connected to my home WiFi, doesn't work when I'm out at work which is why I bought it.Terrible experience, this app and device has given me nothing but grief.

6. With the issues so far plus the permissions requested and reviews, I think I give up and I feel like I need to monitor my devices and accounts for a whileApp was pretty great until the most recent update.

7. And 1 feeder that I reset trying to get to connect to the app that is stuck on some unknown schedule.

8. The bowl is not in view at all.Update: 11/1 - Feeder camera no longer connects most of the time.

9. Used 2 different numbers, finally worked with an email but it was first saying server issue then account already created.

10. There's no way I'm doing that, so now I have to manually enable location permissions when I want to use the app, then manually disable them when I'm done.

11. TRASH! This app requires way too many permissions including my location which I think is a violation of my privacy and should not be required.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix DOGNESS Issues

1. Fix DOGNESS Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart DOGNESS: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the DOGNESS App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "DOGNESS" » Open DOGNESS » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for DOGNESS » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear DOGNESS app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from DOGNESS servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "DOGNESS" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check DOGNESS app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, DOGNESS might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall DOGNESS. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall DOGNESS then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing DOGNESS not working


2. Fix DOGNESS Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make DOGNESS be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to DOGNESS not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, DOGNESS may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
