PlayTo Customer Insights

1. Uninstalling.Worked great for a month & then just stopped working out of nowhere & i had to search for another app to mirror things from my wifi android phone w/memory card to my smart tv, which of course you cannot do w/iphone, no memory card slot or free watching of ANY video or ANYTHING! This app also didnt continue to mirror a few minutes after your screen locks & then you have to start what you were watching all over again! The Local Cast app is so much better so im glad this app stopped working for me!It was once a great app but is now literally useless due to CONSTANT ads covering the entire screen rendering it inoperable.

2. Do not Download Google should Ban themKeeps freezing up every time I try use it, then it annoys me with ads and to for me to upgrade to the paid version.

3. Save your time and your money.Terrible,Avoid this app ,was not at all user friendly although I did get it to work eventually,price quietly increased a few months into having it,yet the quality actually got worse.

4. Once I reset my phone it didn't automatically reinstall with the rest of my paid apps.

5. It was always available for me to re download, in my Google Apps and it should have been because I paid for it.

6. Its added the lite version and is asking me upgrade when Ive been paying for months and the next payment isn't due yet.

7. Can't play videos from file explorer, only from "videos" category, and that dumps all videos on the device into a huge list, so it's hard to get to the file to play.

8. I suspect they make it freeze up deliberately in the hope I'll upgrade to paid version.

9. App is great but this is the second time this has happened and no helpThis is the worst app ever and it's all because of customer service.

10. Seem a good app, except for list handling and list display options.Once was good but know you should avoid!!!.

11. Yes a lot of work has gone into the app but so do other people's apps too.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PlayTo Issues

1. Fix PlayTo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PlayTo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PlayTo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PlayTo" » Open PlayTo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PlayTo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PlayTo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PlayTo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PlayTo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PlayTo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PlayTo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PlayTo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PlayTo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PlayTo not working


2. Fix PlayTo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PlayTo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PlayTo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PlayTo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
