1. The app won't log in because it doesn't recognize the internet connection.This app is terrible! NO STARS!! It shows a pop-up that says "you must be connected to wifi or cellular tower to operate." I'm always on one or the other, if not both and it still doesn't work!...we have Cox Security for Business and it is even worse.

2. It gives a 'Not Connected' error message, even though we're at home, Connected to our WIFI and/or have full 5G bars!Very slow when trying to view live feeds from the camera, if it even loads at all.

3. When I to login, it states that "I must have an internet connection." Nothing is wrong with my WiFi and my phone is not on airplane mode.

4. Very often, when I open the app, a popup states I am not connected to the internet (even though I am.) To trouble shoot, I have to do one of two things, either turn on and off the phones wifi, or turn on and off the mobile data.

5. Update: After still getting the no internet connection error, I read what was updated section and found out that the app only works with older phone models.

6. I have to turn off the wifi on my phone in order to login but lately it no longer allows that either.

7. it doesn't integrate with Alexa/Amazon (Not sure about Google or others) so you are forced to use their app which can close for no reason, or not remember your login credentials.The issue with the app is complicated.

8. I've had 3 tech visits due to communication failures with the camera, delayed photos, videos, and not being able to login to the app.

9. This needs to be fixed ASAP.The biggest negative issue for the past year is that out of my y cameras, only 2 or 3 display on phone's app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Cox Homelife Issues

1. Fix Cox Homelife Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Cox Homelife: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Cox Homelife App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Cox Homelife" » Open Cox Homelife » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Cox Homelife » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Cox Homelife app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Cox Homelife servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Cox Homelife" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Cox Homelife app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Cox Homelife might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Cox Homelife. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Cox Homelife then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Cox Homelife not working
