What users are saying

1. Finding a program to record involves going to the guide, finding the episode I want to start with, clicking on the episode, selecting record, selecting whether to record episode or series, changing settings, and finally maybe having the series set up to record.

2. Also its a little annoying trying to find sports games that go into overtime because the app will not show the game if you search, but if you know the channel you should be okay.Bugs introduced recently don't allow me to use the remote function.

3. Why are they always in my way??? This app sucks!!!This app used to be good, but since the latest update, it quit showing the recorded shows (i.e. the recorded shows page is blank).

4. Now that it finally loads, it crashes ALL-THE-TIME (my Samsung S20FE even recommended putting it into Deep Sleep because of all the crashes!) Additionally, the app doesn't sync automatically anymore (specifically: deleted programs) - I have to log out and back in to get the deleted programs to update.

5. You can't watch recorded shows unless they are available On Demand.

6. The phone remote feature is impossible to program except on one of my receivers and then only works sporadically.

7. And the app stopped 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through both shows I was trying to watch.

8. the recordings were blank for a while but I somehow got them back while trying to troubleshoot the remote issue.

9. Then they told me that they needed to check my receiver (at home)!At&T wants me to use this app to schedule DVR recordings.

10. live TV shows a few seconds then buffers then shows a frozen picture with sound.

11. The app can't watch recordings and has trouble viewing certain events like the world series, despite being in our plan.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix U-verse Issues

1. Fix U-verse Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart U-verse: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the U-verse App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "U-verse" » Open U-verse » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for U-verse » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear U-verse app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from U-verse servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "U-verse" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check U-verse app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, U-verse might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall U-verse. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall U-verse then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing U-verse not working


2. Fix U-verse Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make U-verse be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to U-verse not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, U-verse may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
