Sketchbook Customer Insights

1. I also use a stylist that connects to my tablet and i switched the app to "pen mode" and it still lags and glitches! This would be an amazing app if this was fixed! :)Love this app but I have a few suggestions! First, I'd like to see my time spent on the drawing and possibly a video that's automatically taken when you start the drawing showing you your drawing progress? I'd also love a button where you can automatically switch between an eraser and a brush of your choice, it's a tad tedious going back and forth! Also a clipping tool! (When you can clip onto the layer below and only be able to draw in the guidelines of whatever is on the layer below)By far the best sketching/drawing app I've tried.

2. This drawing app is out of this world! It is completely free (unlike other sketching apps that come with monthly pay), there are absolutely NO adds, and all tools are given to you for free.

3. I love this app, but the update was unnecessary.To whom it may concern, First of all, I LOVE the new update (as of June 25th, 2023) However, there is one issue - the transform tools don't work.

4. There isn't any ads, and the only in-app purchase is premium, which is 100% optional! The interface is simple and easy to navigate, and you can assign shortcuts to brushes or other tools you need.

5. Out of all the art programs I've tried so far, Sketchbook is the best.I love drawing on here, every piece of my art involves this app, but the new update is horrible.

6. I've been waiting for this update since i realized other programs had brush engines.

7. It constantly kicks me out for no reason, sometimes it doesn't respond at all, it keeps undoing my sketches and the update over complicates it, the app is very tough and confusing to navigate.

9. And the PDF exporting option?? Perfect timing.Trying to get this to work with a sketch tablet was an absolute nightmare.

10. No cursor preview when hovering pen over tablet, and no ability to have the app in landscape mode, even with phone rotation enabled.

11. Was hoping it'd work in this app, too.The app is fine but the newest update made it so much more difficult to use.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Sketchbook Issues

1. Fix Sketchbook Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Sketchbook: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Sketchbook App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Sketchbook" » Open Sketchbook » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Sketchbook » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Sketchbook app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Sketchbook servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Sketchbook" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Sketchbook app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Sketchbook might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Sketchbook. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Sketchbook then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Sketchbook not working


2. Fix Sketchbook Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Sketchbook be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Sketchbook not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Sketchbook may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
