The app was great when it was working.simple interface .. gives lots of options including the correct ones and their meaning .. unlike other similar apps that needs the correct stroke order or number to give the correct result even without their meaning .The best and most simple handwriting kanji app I've ever used and has helped me so many times.

2. But for some reason ever since the new update you get weird symbol boxes instead of kanji boxes so for that I'm giving it one star until it gets fixed.Application was error in search step on 2021-Mar-18.

3. App worked fine at first but for some reason after drawing kanji, it would show up only as random characters and symbols.

1. Fix Japanese Handwriting Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Japanese Handwriting: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Japanese Handwriting App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Japanese Handwriting" » Open Japanese Handwriting » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Japanese Handwriting » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Japanese Handwriting app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Japanese Handwriting servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Japanese Handwriting" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Japanese Handwriting app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Japanese Handwriting might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Japanese Handwriting. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Japanese Handwriting then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Japanese Handwriting not working

2. Fix Japanese Handwriting Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Japanese Handwriting be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
