About NZeTA

NZeTA Customer Insights

1. I've been trying all different angles, lighting conditions, light diffusers and still keep getting "Try to avoid reflections" error message on my Husband's passport, although mine had no issue.

2. 🤞 EDIT AGAIN: YAY! It works now! Thank you for patching.Passport scanner cannot scan my passport; it constantly complains about reflections.

3. I wonder how many they scam this way.Straight forward process in structure, however, the card scan feature does not work and it too quickly takes a photo without giving an option for the applicant to choose when it is taken.

4. The transaction does not complete, so I am not sure if I'll get to NZ using this app..Two of us tried and it refused to work via the WiFi so we both had to use phone data.

5. I failed several times before I realized that I had to line up the marked area with the bottom of the passport page.

6. I entered my card details manually, and the transaction did not complete, the timer just kept swirling..No explanation notification or exit/cancel option.

7. All I can see is the option to view the receipt for the one passport that I processed (successfully, thank you) earlier.

8. It processed quickly with the wrong name, even though it didn't match my passport name - not even close.

9. 3 stars otherwise, for mediocre functionality.When running the app, it's not really clear how to scan the passport page.

11. I cannot use this app.You might want to consider using a better OCR reader for the passport scanner.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix NZeTA Issues

1. Fix NZeTA Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart NZeTA: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the NZeTA App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "NZeTA" » Open NZeTA » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for NZeTA » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear NZeTA app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from NZeTA servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "NZeTA" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check NZeTA app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, NZeTA might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall NZeTA. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall NZeTA then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing NZeTA not working


2. Fix NZeTA Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make NZeTA be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to NZeTA not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, NZeTA may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
