1. Metro's on-demand ride sharing app, offers trips within several zones in LA County.
2. Micro is a fast, easy, safe and convenient option for quick trips around town without having to transfer.
1. Using the metro micro is safe, as the only way you can get on is if you request a ride through the app! They have 3 different vehicles for what you may need!Pros: - no penalty for missing your bus, great price ($1), kind drivers, large service area (love the expansion into silver lake/echo park!!) Cons: - super unreliable in terms of timing; the pickup window is 10 mins, but often comes 10/15 mins late (like 50% of the time), so you can't effectively use metro micro if you need to catch a connecting bus/train or get to work on time - not enough vans on the road, if you don't book at least 2-3hrs ahead of time, you won't be able to use the vanPublic transportation for a $1.
2. But the app and service for the most part have been a life saver since I haven't had my car.So far it has never let me book a ride as I have to be in specific area but I see them drive past my house ALL the time, and the app shows my required trip is within their serviceable area.
3. I love metro micro!!! I use it to get to work and home, as well as the occasional going out to explore! There is a zone which you have to adhere but it's pretty big depending on your area! The cost per ride is 1$ right now, and I genuinely don't mind if it goes higher! The drivers are all friendly and the buses are clean.
4. In addition, Just a heads up Pick up and drop off location can be up to 5 blocks off from the destination addresses at the nearest bus stop usually.Great service, the price is unbelievable.
5. Wether you get picked up and dropped off on time is a matter of luck.I've been using this app for a while now and even though it still a work in progress (at least I hope) it has it's good and bad times.
6. Making the calculation of time frame from my pick to my destination has been really hard.
7. Such a great idea and thought it would be a perfect app for me when I was told about it but I have been so disappointed, hopefully it gets better. This is really helpful for getting right where I need to go.
8. There are a few kinks that the van's system needs to work out so it doesn't drop off passengers at inconvenient stops farther from their destination than necessary.
9. Like going miles out of the way to jump on the 105 for instance, and I can even see on the app the estimated arrival time jumps, at times, by ten minutes.
10. It would be so cool if they had more zones, passengers having the ability to go across multiple zones and the service was available at least until midnight, but I'm greatful for the service as is.
11. Their navigation system creates absurd routes instead of going to the nearest point for pick up or drop off.
