Simply Auto Customer Insights

1. Some things could be improved upon; my car's imagine has been lost and I haven't bothered reuploading since it's a small issue, and I have seen others lose their data though I haven't experienced this myself in the few weeks I've been using this.

2. Tried the sync option to allow my wife and I both to enter data, and lost literally about 8 years of data for multiple vehicles.

3. I've used the app on 8 cars for about 10 years with great success until it stopped clearing the last data on new entries.

4. I recently upgraded my phone and my new phone is missing 2 years of data for 3 of 4 vehicles.

5. So my rating is not specific the the app, but to the support.The app has changed and is almost unusable for data entry.

6. Very disappointed.When I first started using this in early 2019, I was able to customize some of the services that weren't already suggested.

7. Possibly user error on my part, but sent multiple messages asking for assistance and never received a single response.

8. The app immediately updates the math for each single entry with the old data and defauls back to the old data.

9. My favorite part is all of the info I'm able to input, and stats I can see as a result.I really haven't used it enough to give it a "real" rating.

10. YOU DONT NEED THAT TYPE OF ACCESS.Amazing app! I'm keeping a thorough service history as I do all of my own maintenance and repairs.

11. So when you first go to log a trip, it tells you you need to upgrade your account - $5, one time charge.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Simply Auto Issues

1. Fix Simply Auto Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Simply Auto: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Simply Auto App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Simply Auto" » Open Simply Auto: Car Maintenance » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Simply Auto » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Simply Auto: Car Maintenance app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Simply Auto servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Simply Auto: Car Maintenance" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Simply Auto app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Simply Auto might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Simply Auto. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Simply Auto then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Simply Auto not working


2. Fix Simply Auto Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Simply Auto be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Simply Auto not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Simply Auto may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
