Waste of moneyMassive thank you to Dawid Gaming's advice below saying that you need to HOLD DOWN the on-screen buttons (Real Time direction buttons and Play button in Coding screen) in order to get this app to work properly! Still trial and error to use though as sparse instructions on backpage of manual are next to useless.Poor to say the least.

2. Robot behaves fine without (although functions are somewhat limited) but app works in mysterious ways, you can get it talk or blink its eyes, refuses live commands or occasionally with massive time delay, will not accept coding at all.

3. Not sure why phone volume needs to be turned on to function either... does it only react to sound? If you have cash to splurge & want fun coding experience for kid with an app interface, do yourself a favour and buy lego boost instead.the app doesnt connect to the robot.

4. please look into why this doesnt work the robot is easy to make however you do need a few things to make him, like a screwdriver etc and an adult to help as a lot of it is fiddlyIssue in instructions and cables.

5. The program is more reliable but too few steps allowedHow can I connect the robot with the App? The robot works great without the App but just seems not able to use the App at all.

6. Built the robot with my son, installed the app.. His Kindle fire won't issue any movement commands in any mode, can make sounds and make the leds turn on, but that's it.

1. Fix Mio, the Robot Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Mio, the Robot: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Mio, the Robot App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Mio, the Robot" » Open Mio, the Robot » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Mio, the Robot » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Mio, the Robot app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Mio, the Robot servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mio, the Robot" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Mio, the Robot app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Mio, the Robot might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Mio, the Robot. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Mio, the Robot then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Mio, the Robot not working

2. Fix Mio, the Robot Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Mio, the Robot be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Mio, the Robot not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Mio, the Robot may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
