1. Even if the remote worked on my TV the vibration function doesn't work on all button presses so I can't tell if I'm even pressing something and the ads are still so pervasive it's legitimately possible to do anything.

2. This app is a million times more painful from the shear amount of ads than just walking to the tv and using the button panel (and I say that with a broken button panel that sometimes changes the channel when I'm trying to change the volume).

3. Every time you press a button on the remote it either gives you a message or an advertisement.

4. Find something else.Immediately deleted this app after having unskippable ads before.... SETTING IT UP!!! I get a few banner ads on free apps, but if your advertisements directly interfere with the usefulness of your product, you're really shooting yourself in the foot.

5. The clicks are dead.Absolute worst app! You click 1 single thing on the screen and you get pop up ads.

6. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.What on Earth kind of experience is this..? I am fine with ads, but between every click, masking the original location until another ad has popped up? This is what absolutely kills apps.

7. I had it installed for less than 5 minutes and as soon as you go go make your selection there were giant and loud ads covering the whole screen.

8. I've seen 50 ads in the space of time it took me to find and activate 1 single TV.

9. By the time I had installed and tried to select the model of my TV, I was hit with over 10 ads -- 3 of which I accidentally clicked on.

10. Don't bother, it seems none of the configurations seem to be even operational as it defaulted every time back to configuration 1.

11. I had this downloaded for all but 5 minutes and I couldn't take it anymore.This app is absolute garbage.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Universal Remote Issues

1. Fix Universal Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Universal Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Universal Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Universal Remote" » Open Universal Remote for All TV » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Universal Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Universal Remote for All TV app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Universal Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Universal Remote for All TV" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Universal Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Universal Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Universal Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Universal Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Universal Remote not working


2. Fix Universal Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Universal Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Universal Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Universal Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
