1. I've been reading Spiegel for decades but this is unbearable.Videos not working (only black screen with sound) + Adds still shown with premium subscription... Edit: from 2 to 3 stars Good to know that you are working on this problem.

2. I would understand keeping the key articles behind a pay wall, but the numbers of articles requiring a subscription renders the app useless for those without it.

3. You can check several topics that you want to get information about, but there is no option if you don't want video articles or short notices.

1. Fix DER SPIEGEL Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart DER SPIEGEL: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the DER SPIEGEL App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "DER SPIEGEL" » Open DER SPIEGEL - Nachrichten » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for DER SPIEGEL » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear DER SPIEGEL - Nachrichten app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from DER SPIEGEL servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "DER SPIEGEL - Nachrichten" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check DER SPIEGEL app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, DER SPIEGEL might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall DER SPIEGEL. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall DER SPIEGEL then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing DER SPIEGEL not working

2. Fix DER SPIEGEL Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make DER SPIEGEL be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to DER SPIEGEL not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, DER SPIEGEL may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
