1. I have been using Zinio for four years now and can't recommend it enough!While the variety of magazines available is good...i find the pricing to be overly expensive.

2. UPDATE: They have done nothing to fix the problem.I purchased one issue of a quilting magazine, and the digital issue on Zinio didn't come with the pattern inserts that accompany every print edition, rendering half of the patterns useless.

3. There are better options out there where you can subscribe monthly to the app and have unlimited access to multiple magazines for a much cheaper cost.I originally liked Zinio a great deal, recommended it to friends, and have many subscriptions.

4. Downloads don't transfer between platforms under the same account.disappointed on many levels it cannot use expanded memory, so when the internal memory was full and the files utility moved some file to the external memory, I lost all my magazine, bookmarks etc.

5. I will someday buy a new device, but by then I suspect I will have shifted to subscribing through other vendors.I have been buying magazines and using this app for over 5 years.

6. I gave it 2 stars Bacchus of years without issue, now I feel like it is a loss of money.I have been experiencing performance issues over the last year or so.

7. New issue: when downloading a subscribed magazine, random pages are not downloaded and remain blank, although they appear in the thumbnails view.

8. I tried to purchase a new subscription, but wasn't able to find any way to accomplish the task - I could only find an option to buy an individual issue, which was NOT what I wanted.

9. I am finding that the magazines I want are now available for the Kindle and through Google Books, both of which work well on my devices.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ZINIO Issues

1. Fix ZINIO Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ZINIO: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ZINIO App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ZINIO" » Open ZINIO - Magazine Newsstand » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ZINIO » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ZINIO - Magazine Newsstand app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ZINIO servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ZINIO - Magazine Newsstand" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ZINIO app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ZINIO might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ZINIO. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ZINIO then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ZINIO not working


2. Fix ZINIO Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ZINIO be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ZINIO not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ZINIO may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
