1. The videos/books themselves are great and my toddler loves them.This app is absolutely one of my favorite! Everything in it is made with such quality! The rhythm, clarity, and tone of the voices that read the stoeies are delight ; The music and soundscape are sublime! Extremely well done, and appropriate! The pictures are fair to the illustrations in the book, they are beautifully paced and move smoothly! It's nothing like the cartoons or shows for kids that are offered nowadays, where everything is so fast paced, loud, and dizzying busy!! Excellent job!Latest update is really painful.

2. We have several devices that have Vooks installed (S21 Ult, Note 8, iPhone 8+, Tab 7+) and they all have had a hit or miss when it came to using Chromecast, but since the last update for Android 12.0.2, it will cast, but play two different stories on our screen and the Chromecast simultaneously.

3. My kids enjoy reading physical books, but they also enjoy watching the pictures move with each of these stories.

4. The way the illustrations are animated means that the kids feel like they're watching TV, but as a former reading teacher, I love that the words are included so they can take in some written language.

5. An added bonus is that Vooks also gives you the lesson plans to be able to dive deeper into these stories! We were lucky to be given a free year long trail, but will definitely be paying for a subscription afterwards.

6. We've installed twice.Also, Dark Mode pls.Loving this app! Our 4 year old has autism...he LOVES books and he LOVES his technology, but he has a difficult time sitting still.

7. My daughter is deaf and uses cochlear implants so any books on disabilities and hearing loss would be amazing! As well as books about sign language.The latest update is completely unacceptable.

8. Did I mention it's really slow to navigate around in the app? We can no longer view the book list in landscape mode, instead switching between portrait and landscape.The content offered is great.

9. The "worst" part is when a favorite book leaves, but that usually just means it's time for us to buy it for our own library.

10. I am a bit of a book buying addict so this is a great way to try new books and the animations are so fun.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Vooks Issues

1. Fix Vooks Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Vooks: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Vooks App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Vooks" » Open Vooks: Read-alouds for kids » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Vooks » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Vooks: Read-alouds for kids app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Vooks servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Vooks: Read-alouds for kids" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Vooks app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Vooks might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Vooks. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Vooks then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Vooks not working


2. Fix Vooks Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Vooks be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Vooks not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Vooks may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
