THRIVE AWAY Customer Insights

1. The idea is to make the phone function only as a basic phone, and not as a smartphone, during designated times.The app works very well, except for several issues that makes it very difficult for me to use: the scheduled thrive mode doesn't work, and even if I turn it on i get a notification asking me to start.

2. What the heck!! Besides, in Super Thrive mode, you must give an option for the phone calling and receiving to function, (again with an option for either VIP numbers or all numbers), but not the WiFi and other apps.

3. It really works well and helps to stay away from the phone .But when it comes to the point of blocking some apps for over usage or block a group of apps it fails miserably .

The execution is really good and I just have a one little tweak that according to me would make this app more awesome .I just don't love the fact that it doesn't work in landscape mode.I don't know if it's just me but when I rotate my phone the app is still in landscape mode and you can see the other app behind it.

5. This is a great app! Takes a bit of time to understand and setup, well worth the effort.This app is really good when it comes to thrive mode or super thrive mode.

6. Again, thanks!Scheduling a Thrive mode is simply not working.. I am tired trying out several times and different ways for it to work, but it doesn't.

7. Thrive is super harsh with its blanket blocking, but I don't mind as it is (so far) absolutely rock solid in blocking access to the phone.

8. Recently when using "plan a session" the "app blocking" via "app usage stats" stopped blocking apps once I reach the limit I set.

Features I would like to see: ability to create a White List instead of a Black List (ie, would like to just select one or two apps instead of selecting all individually except those 1 or 2 -- or make a "select all" button that we could flick and then we could uncheck the one or two we want to use).

10. Thank you so much for making an app that can block all other apps except the one or two I need to get my work done (I'm a writer who writes on his phone).

11. I also want to be able to turn off my pre-set scheduled sessions in "plan a session" but it's not easy.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix THRIVE AWAY Issues

1. Fix THRIVE AWAY Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart THRIVE AWAY: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the THRIVE AWAY App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "THRIVE AWAY" » Open THRIVE AWAY » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for THRIVE AWAY » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear THRIVE AWAY app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from THRIVE AWAY servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "THRIVE AWAY" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check THRIVE AWAY app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, THRIVE AWAY might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall THRIVE AWAY. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall THRIVE AWAY then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing THRIVE AWAY not working


2. Fix THRIVE AWAY Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make THRIVE AWAY be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to THRIVE AWAY not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, THRIVE AWAY may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
