1. Tailscale transforms your existing network from a legacy hub and spoke model to a modern, lightweight, and responsive mesh networking architecture that eliminates single points of failure and delivers better performance, scalability, and security for your end users, devices, and remote resources.
2. Replace legacy VPNs, connect workloads across on-prem and cloud infrastructure providers, power Zero Trust initiatives, and make remote access secure by simplifying software-defined networking and security operations.
3. Built on WireGuard®, Tailscale is networking technology that enables you to make finely configurable connections, secured end-to-end according to zero trust principles, between any resources on any infrastructure.
4. Deploy a zero-config VPN, securely access resources on any infrastructure, unlock developer workflow networking, and modernize Enterprise networking at scale with Tailscale.
5. Tailscale brings identity to the network layer, so that you can control access based on user identity, not only IP address.
6. Tailscale creates an overlay network, using your existing network, so you can incrementally deploy it without needing new network switches or to change your network architecture.
7. This gives you the power to intuitively and flexibly define which users should have access to which services based on existing user identities, as well as groups, services, and subnet ranges.
8. Tailscale is hardware-agnostic—so you can make decisions about your hardware independently from decisions about your network.
9. Securely connect to anything on the internet with Tailscale.
10. Tailscale works with 100+ technology integrations and dozens of identity providers, and is available on a wide range of operating system platforms, including Apple macOS, iOS, and tvOS, Windows, Linux, and Android.
1. I frequently have to open the app to complete the connection.Lacking basic features like being able to see the status of other devices, available services ect.
2. Users have to open the app every time they want to establish a connection from sleep mode or restarting Google TV.App functions well - no core function complains there.
3. This is basiclly an on/off switch which is nice, but literally no other features.First time setup, new user... The UX is pretty bad.
4. After years of looking for a remote desktop app for Android, this allows me to use RDP, without worrying about other people getting in.
5. However lately I've noticed instability with the connection on android which completely blocks all traffic until I toggle the connection off and on.
6. When it toggles on, tailscale doesn't start until you manually open the app.
7. I find there's a lot of times I need to quickly turn the vpn off or on, so this bug is annoying.Excellent app for easily accessing files on my home computer from anywhere.
8. Using the Back button on the remote doesn't function properly while in the app.
9. Also, the existence of the Quickpanel tile is amazing, though it's sometimes a tad quirky.I used manual Wireguard configuration for quite a while, but recently I've switched to Tailscale and it is so much easier that it's not even funny.
10. I was met with a simplistic home page full of my devices, I couldn't figure out how to tunnel to my server.
11. One thing, though: Please add info to the sticky notification to tell me that my phone is connected to an exit node.
