1. But just a question, is this a game? That’s what other people are calling it.Duolingo is the best learning platform for languages I’ve encountered, because it allows one to learn at one’s own pace while learning multiple languages at once (which assists with forming the neural pathways necessary to retain the language!).
2. Don’t expect yourself to learn an entire language with Duolingo alone but it is great when wanting to practice the language you are learning or getting a few new words.
3. Another thing you could start is a pen pal thing between learners; for example, if a French person is learning Italian, and an Italian is learning French, you could give people the option to build international friendships and practice the language by writing to their pen pal or calling them.
4. Wish this was an option! Otherwise, great appLearning a language is a difficult task that can take years, but this app has really helped me get through what has been the most difficult part for me- learning enough words to be conversational.
5. Duolingo won’t make you fluent but it is a great starting place and language practice tool to have when first encountering a new language.
6. All you could do was hear the word but I could never tell if the letter “d” wIt’s free, the adds aren’t pop up adds, you can practice to gain health, you can have friends, and it’s very easy to learn.
7. One improvement would be if instead of just repeating everything we are given in one language or the other, we had to answer a question posed in the language we are learning.
8. There is only ONE thing I wish it had (if it has it, I haven’t figured out how to use it): a large group of people in my Spanish class all downloaded the app together to compete against each other, but we can’t start our own friends leaderboard.
9. I would use Duolingo to begin learning any language.
10. It doesn’t make me not want to use the app though, I’ll probably just erase my progress when I’m done so I can redo the leveling up lessons.Unlike Rosetta Stone, where you have to pay insane amounts of money, Duolingo is completely free.
11. The ability to connect with other learners gives one the option to build a learning community, and the leaderboards add a competitive aspect for those who find that helpful.
