Logbook Customer Insights

1. It's sometimes slow to fill in either start or end address of the trip, so the "update/reload" button needs to be tapped more than once, which is annoying, same with the distance calculator, which sometimes makes an error of 0.1km and then annoys me (saying that I made an error) to update it by tapping on the "=" button (that is if I haven't spotted the error in the first place and done the "update tap" already.

2. Once you have set it up, all you need to do is mark trip as "personal" "business" etc, add a note ( if you wish to do so) and all done! There are also many other functions that i can see but haven't explored yet, so far so good :)Used for more than 2 years on Samsung Note 3 - worked perfectly.

3. One thing it lacks is the ability of capturing fuel receipts....would be good if it had that.I'll give it 5 stars because it works great for me with the automatic OBD start function.

4. But one thing I can say and that is the main reason for giving only 2 stars rating, is the fact that the DESCRIPTION DOESN'T LET US KNOW THAT EXPORT IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT PAYING A HEFTY AU$8.79. It's not that much about money, but now I've used the app for months without knowing it.

5. But this one is so easy - easy to set up, easy to track, to add a note to...and then, just swipe and you're done!I have to turn in mileage reports monthly at work.

6. I drive my truck for work, and this app makes it *SO* easy to track mileage and expenses.

7. I know it's business, yet being honest and upfront with your customers should be part of it, too.Works as described with the exception of the OBD2 plugin - this just gives me a spinning circle.

8. Purchased export first and now get an error when trying to pay for ad free.

9. If app developer could please contact me.I got this as a backup since my other, more expensive, tracker was skipping trips and sometimes, even whole days.

10. Recently updated to new phone Galaxy 9 Plus - after installation never recorded mileage and keep crashing almost on each click.

11. Interface is not beautiful and feels like it needs some polish but it is functionally focussed app and works well for the function.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Logbook Issues

1. Fix Logbook Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Logbook: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Logbook App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Logbook" » Open Logbook - TripTracker » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Logbook » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Logbook - TripTracker app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Logbook servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Logbook - TripTracker" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Logbook app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Logbook might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Logbook. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Logbook then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Logbook not working


2. Fix Logbook Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Logbook be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Logbook not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Logbook may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
