I then tried the lights in twinkle mode and all was good, it was looking really promising so I moved on to the next step and selected screen capture... again all seemed to be going well! until I opened up netflix and all of the lights went out, next I tried it on normal digital tv, again the lights went out :( It appears that what you end up with is a fancy control to make pretty patterns around the screen but not actually an ambilight for watching films and tv etc.

2. It would be great if the dev can add MQTT feature to remotely control the light when the TV is off.I agree it works extremely well on Nvidia Shield! One question though, can you lower the intensity of the lights when using the "single color mode"? No matter which level I change to in "Color Brightness", the brightness stays the same, which is full.

If by some chance the programmer comes back to me and can advise what the problem is and get if fixed then my rating will be changed, for now its next to useless for me on my Sony Bravia Android TV (which was selected from the list of devices on playstore so should be compatible) UPDATE the programer has commented below that the application is not really designed to do what I need, if you are looking for something for third party integration it could be fine for you.Really great app! I was looking up Hue HDMI sync box and came across this app and it just saved me a fortune when I just got some D1 mini and strips laying around.

4. Not working.after this year update.capture mode no longer works.application just hangs.other modes work only for a couple of seconds.

5. Mi TV 4s Android 918/6 update made this app not working anymore for capture mode and color effect mode.

6. screen capture is not working.When I finally managed to get it to communicate with the board and the lights and it flashed up the connected sequence I thought all was well.

7. It does work when level is changed in the "screen capture mode".

8. It seems like a bug with the screen capture, since changing the capture settings (like frame rate or capture quality) will affect when/where it flickers but it won't get rid of it completely.

9. I don't think it is an issue with my setup, because if I do "color effect mode", it will never flicker.

11. My only wish is that you could set a transition/smoothing time for the LEDs responsiveness, because sometimes they will flicker based on what's on the screen.

1. Fix Ambient light Application Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Ambient light Application: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Ambient light Application App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Ambient light Application" » Open Ambient light Application » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Ambient light Application » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Ambient light Application app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Ambient light Application servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Ambient light Application" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Ambient light Application app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Ambient light Application might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Ambient light Application. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Ambient light Application then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Ambient light Application not working

2. Fix Ambient light Application Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Ambient light Application be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Ambient light Application not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Ambient light Application may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
