1. I've had it in place for a few years and no need to replace it.Love it... getting better and better... however i have different devices such as a Android phone windows 10 laptop and and Amazon fire tablet i have conflicting and confusing redundant subscription across platforms i think i will cancel my subscription and go with the factory install av on my devices.l been a member for a number of years.with all the bells and whistles until i sort this out.

2. It does nothing.I've had Scanguard now for almost 4 years! Every issue I've experienced,which have been few, have been addressed immediately and very professionally and this is why I'm still with Scanguard or I word have switched long ago to another Company/App! I'm HIGHLY PLEASED WITH SCANGUARD AND PLAN TO STAY WITH THEM FOR A LONG TO COME! M.C. BURTON & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CO/APP !!!They overcharged me each month after a trial without telling me, and then charged me for multiple devices ($70).

3. They quietly increase subscription cost each year too & you can't cancel without emailing them at which point you get multiple emails telling you what a mistake you're making, then you have to jump through hoops and avoid dark UX patterns to avoid having your account reactivated! Scammers.Doesn't do anything.

4. Terrible.Please fix your VPN settings, no matter how hard I try to connect to a VPN it keeps saying there is something wrong with the connection whether I try a different country each time or not! I used to love using the app on my phone but after the VPN issue it's becoming a hassleRegardless of how effective this software may be if you decide to cancel your subscription they make it incredibly difficult.

5. I get a fraud alert from my credit card, as they tried to bill me twice for another year.Scanguard has worked well on my machines... I haven't searched for a confirming app.

6. When I realized it, they would only refund me the renewel they just charged me and I cancelled my account! They don't even send you emails about when they charge you monthly.

7. I paid for a year subscription and wasnt satisfied with the product.

8. The NSA created back doors, in all US mobile devices software, and it has been exploited by hackers ever since.

9. I canceled my subscription and that should've been that, it wasn't.

10. I was charged again for the product and they added on the extra $70 charge for their "unlimited" version.

11. It asks for PC or MAC, but doesn't allow for none.You might as well be paying to install a virus on whatever device you're putting this on.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Scanguard Issues

1. Fix Scanguard Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Scanguard: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Scanguard App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Scanguard" » Open Scanguard » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Scanguard » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Scanguard app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Scanguard servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Scanguard" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Scanguard app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Scanguard might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Scanguard. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Scanguard then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Scanguard not working


2. Fix Scanguard Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Scanguard be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Scanguard not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Scanguard may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
