1. Surprise, Smart lost contact with my left hearing aid.I have the galaxy s8, took a while for Resound and Samsung to work out connectivity between the app and the hearing aids.

2. The app shows a positive connection to both hearing aids and the volume up and down buttons on the hearing aids themselves work, so I know it is not an issue with the actual hearing aids or batteries.old app used to work.

3. I closed the battery door for the left and re-ran the search and it then found both hearing aids.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ReSound Smart Issues

1. Fix ReSound Smart Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ReSound Smart: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ReSound Smart App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ReSound Smart" » Open ReSound Smart » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ReSound Smart » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ReSound Smart app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ReSound Smart servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ReSound Smart" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ReSound Smart app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ReSound Smart might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ReSound Smart. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ReSound Smart then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ReSound Smart not working


2. Fix ReSound Smart Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ReSound Smart be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ReSound Smart not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ReSound Smart may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
