1. My friends are literally pleading with me to change providers.Used to be good! I've had Republic for 8 years or so and loved them! I spend 95% of my time connected to WiFi so making calls even with bad cell reception was easy.
2. My phone has the latest update...I don't know if it is because this phone is two years old ...or if it is just the service that isn't working.Edit: Apparently, a default app on both my and my husband's phones called SIM Manager was interrupting our Republic Wireless service.
3. I do have problems some time with the Wi-Fi calling, so I've just learned to quick turn off Wi-Fi when I need to make a phone call.
4. Don't ever run out of cell data without nearby WiFi! If you try to add data using the app, the Republic app opens your browser to their broken login page.
5. Have a bunch of free time and aren't big on reliability? RW is for you :)(update: They think they've fixed the issue, and it seems ok for now, but years of "working with them" on it has been so frustrating.
6. I haven't had cell service for a few days, hopefully my help ticket goes through.Running Moto Z Play - the cell service is good I often get better reception then people I know with T-Mobile.
7. The techs are great and do what they can, but it's just ridiculous to be paying for a service where I never know when I'll suddenly stop getting messages.) Text messages are unreliable, gifs and images especially, group chats are impossible.
8. Now it takes forever for texts to go through when I am on WiFi, and can't call out or receive calls, even though I am connected to WiFi and have never had this issue before.
9. I hate to have to pay twice as much anywhere else, but that's what I'm going to have to do so I can make phone calls again.I've been with Republic since 2014.
10. However, lately my phone isn't receiving text messages until hours after they were sent (while connected to the home wifi).
11. Other then that, 20 bucks a month with one gig of data :)I have been a customer about two years now and loved this option.
