Lightify Customer Insights

1. These smart lights have been great for me and the new app design has made them greater.Latest update: TOTAL DISASTER!!!! The app will never get past the opening splash screen unless I tap the home button.

2. I would not have left this feedback, but this wonderful app would not stop popping up a window that asked me to rate it while I was unsuccessfully trying to change the colors of my lights in the front of the house.

3. Where are they? The ones that are programmed to turn on and off are pretty much working, I just cant see them! My Echo Dot is now a disaster too! Often, she will say she cannot turn a light on or off because of a problem with version 2.

4. When power is restored, sometimes the connection between the can lights and provided gateway isn't restored, which means a full setup again.

5. I'd love the ability to make customs scenes and patters or cycles for the lights to follow.

6. also the app is very very slow to connect to the light once it has been started.This is quite possibly one of the worst designed applications I have ever had the displeasure of using.

7. You can't just turn the lights off and on as directed by the app, you have to cycle the lights several times (on for 3 seconds, off for 3 seconds) approximately 5 times before the lights will be detected.

8. You can rename lights, setup scenes, anything you desire.

9. Whenever there is an interrupt in power, all of the lights come on, at full intensity.

10. i have to re-add them at least twice a week, making it not even worth trying half the time.TDLR: This updated version is INFINITELY better than the last version.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Lightify Issues

1. Fix Lightify Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Lightify: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Lightify App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Lightify" » Open Lightify » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Lightify » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Lightify app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Lightify servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Lightify" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Lightify app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Lightify might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Lightify. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Lightify then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Lightify not working


2. Fix Lightify Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Lightify be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Lightify not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Lightify may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
