1. Since your required to log in under your cable which you pay $ for then you should be able to watch shows with a normal amount of commercials not 4 mins worth every 15 mins.The ratings on the popular shows are tanking because it's so difficult to get access on this app.

2. I rather quit being a watcher of the shows if this does not get fixed.No app is less functional or more frustrating than this one! For weeks, I couldn't link my TV provider to access locked content.

3. Emailing tech support has proved useless in the past (for issues not being able to cast to my TV)....I would expect anything associated with Oprah to be excellent, but it's not.The app updates have been a great improvement.

4. Is there a different app I don't know about that belongs to OWN? I didn't think "get the app to watch full episodes" included the commercials.app has too many issues hasn't opened on either of my devices for a week now.

5. Entirely too many commercials, doesnt play back where you left off and forces you to watch additional commercials if u pause, rewind or fast forward.

6. I'll let the commercials play on the phone when the show begins but once I cast it to the tv it'll play awhole new set of commercials(3:00 minutes).

7. Maybe OWN could have a pkg only for the wlderly...thinfs are so expensive these days..Episode freezes in the middle of the episode and does not give the option to cast again.

8. It takes just a long as watching on traditional cable so there is no benefit to the app.Too many commercials.

9. When I returned I saw the app was very user friendly, the shows are clearer, the audio is better, casting is great.

10. I stopped using the app 6 months ago because it was a headache to use and was constantly getting stuck and the shows were blurry.

11. When that finally started working, I received a success message, but then continously received a message that the network is not a part of my TV package.

1. Fix Watch OWN Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Watch OWN: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Watch OWN App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Watch OWN" » Open Watch OWN » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Watch OWN » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Watch OWN app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Watch OWN servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Watch OWN" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Watch OWN app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Watch OWN might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Watch OWN. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Watch OWN then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Watch OWN not working


2. Fix Watch OWN Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Watch OWN be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Watch OWN not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Watch OWN may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
