IHOP Customer Insights

1. Quickly was able to sign up with Google link, order what I wanted, scan card with phone (had options to input manually too).

2. At this point the app crashes and you have to re-enter your order.The app crashes when I tap the link to add another item after saving the first one, losing what I selected.

3. Much more frustrating: I can't specify shelled eggs anywhere, so I have to call after placing the order to have them tell the kitchen to use shelled eggs or place my order at the restaurant and tell them to use shelled eggs.

4. Went in, and was told I had to call when I got there! No way!Password error - this app WAS amazing but I updated it today to place an order and had to request a password change.

5. I even turned on location services, and when I click the locations tab at the bottom it finds the IHOP right around the corner, but cannot choose it in the sign up.

6. I was shown an estimated time of delivery to that address, but upon check out it was automatically changed to a pick up order.

7. The app often crashes or randomly gets stuck on typing prompts forcing me to shutdown the app and restart my order.

8. While having an active order, go to the stack market and purchase an item.

9. Picked a favorite location, but was almost impossible to place an order there.

10. You simply can't order more than one item per order, according to the app.

11. Last is that I can't enter a gift card into my account in advance, only when it's time to pay.Nothing worked right! Took 2 tries to install the app then.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix IHOP Issues

1. Fix IHOP Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart IHOP: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the IHOP App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "IHOP" » Open IHOP® » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for IHOP » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear IHOP® app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from IHOP servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "IHOP®" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check IHOP app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, IHOP might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall IHOP. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall IHOP then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing IHOP not working


2. Fix IHOP Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make IHOP be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to IHOP not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, IHOP may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I want my account and personal information deleted, I just don't want it anymore and you have to delete it under law if not you will be fined 7500 per violation under ccpa.

  • Delete my app and credit card information someone stole my information through your app and ordered 100 dollars worth of food in Maryland. I have never been to Maryland and have no connections to the state. That is a big security concern. I am disputing the credit card charges. I called the restaurant and they were no help.

  • I want to delete my iHop account because it is connected to a professional email versus a personal email. I do not want this data linked. However I am citing GDPR, and legally I have the right to ask for deletion. The account was created today 6/11 under the email joyaholmesg@redacted. This is my own email and is linked to lolafreeze@redacted.
    Under GDPR there is a penalty for noncompliance—4% of annual turnover.
