ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) Customer Insights

1. I did like the video playback tool that works (mostly) without downloading the videos in full.I did have issues connecting the camera to my phone at first.

2. A zoom function via a wifi app that works would be great.Good camera, very poor app.

3. UPDATE I started to look around for another dash cam, I was going to send it back, and came across instructions for T-mobile customers to turn on airplane mode and turn on wifi.

4. Connect your phone to the camera first.

5. The camera works great, the night vision functions well.

6. Cannot get the wifi to connect to my phone.

7. I could connect, see the live feed on my phone, and playback footage on my phone when connected.

8. But when I try to download the files to my phone, those videos stop playing.

9. The wifi connection only works intermittently.

10. Downloaded files shown in the Rove app show as an empty folder in the file manager.

11. The head unit in my car runs Android 10 on an octo-core processor and it works like a charm.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) Issues

1. Fix ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ROVE (R2-4K Model Only): Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ROVE (R2-4K Model Only)" » Open ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ROVE (R2-4K Model Only)" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ROVE (R2-4K Model Only). If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ROVE (R2-4K Model Only) may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
