iRobot Home Customer Insights

1. You'll also want to NOT use the routers option to automatically select the fastest wifi band (if it has that setting) as this won't allow you to manually change to the necessary 2.5GHz band for the app to work consistently.Stuck in an endless loop trying to enable location services so it'll clean when I leave home.

2. Also, what terrible robot operation, it's not "smart", it goes directly to the spots it gets stuck in first, then notifies you that it'll be stuck there all day(with a full battery) while you're at work and can't do anything about it.

3. I want to be able to place barriers there so Roomba doesn't drop down to that level, because it's not able to get back up and it can't map it because it gets stuck and doesn't finish.

4. It also needs an add room feature where you can place the bot, or drive the bot remotely from the base then add the room to an existing map instead of running a complete remap of the floor.Running with the Roomba i7+.

5. If you have a dual band router like me, found it works best when you change the phones wifi settings to forget your 5GHz connection completely, even if you're not using that band at the time.

6. Navigation of the device itself has been sketchy lately, and it seems to be getting lost in my dining room on a regular basis! Initial review 3 stars The app is pretty good.

7. It was very trial and error trying to get the robot to vacuum the whole house after the first mapping run.

8. Roomba technology has come a long way, from the early models that randomly zig-zagged for hours, to the smart vacuums that work in strategic patterns and learn from the layout.

9. However, it tends to crash when working with the maps, and I haven't been able to integrate several areas.

10. The Roomba will also wander during a standard cleaning into the back porch that's not even on the map for cleaning.I like the vacuum.

11. The maps are not intuitive.Overall good but some improvements I would like to see are... A way to place a barrier other places besides between rooms.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix iRobot Home Issues

1. Fix iRobot Home Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart iRobot Home: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the iRobot Home App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "iRobot Home" » Open iRobot Home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for iRobot Home » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear iRobot Home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from iRobot Home servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "iRobot Home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check iRobot Home app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, iRobot Home might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall iRobot Home. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall iRobot Home then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing iRobot Home not working


2. Fix iRobot Home Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make iRobot Home be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to iRobot Home not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, iRobot Home may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I didn't know your company was so thirsty. It was very stressful not being in charge of my info. This is one of the hardest accounts I've ever tried to delete. Not appreciated.
