iSmKit Customer Insights

1. If I can change camera settings and NVR settings via the app, that would be great.App is okayish, sometimes doesn't load all the cameras and I need to restart the app, and I NEVER get any notifications, everything is set right on my phone with regards to the settings notifications/battery optimisation, but nothing, it works fine on my iPhone though!Not a happy camper.

2. If they fix these issues, I would appreciate itThe latest version of app now no longer allows viewing of replayed camera video from anything other than the first Camera source selected on opening the app.

3. Any subsequent replayed videos are shown in the timeline marker view at the bottom of the screen, but the recorded videos themselves are not displayed, only the current live camera feed.

4. Also if you click on Full Video while viewing an event clip it takes you to a random place on the recording and you CANNOT easily find your place as you must scroll to try to find it.Used to be a decent little app until 3 weeks ago.

5. so if you have your DVR password with any of those special characters, you cannot use this iSmKit app to view cameras.App is really poor in performance, continually freezing or taking ages to do anything.

6. somehow managed to get the app to send notifications but it works only once in a while and when it does this, the videos that were there allready recorded, have 0 sec of recordings.

7. So, until they fix the issue, my app is useless.I've been using this app for a year now and it works fine for me.

8. The DVR I am using login is fine with the special characters.

9. reinstalled the app and again no notifications.The app is ok but there a big bug that if you put in special characters for the login to your DVR the characters won't take.

10. Previously worked fine, hopefully this will be fixed soon, as the app has otherwise been continually improving over the past 18 months.i would give this 0 stars if i could as it's so bad for so many reasons: 1.

11. I'm giving it 2 stars because I can see my cameras and recordings, but I'm being drown in alarms.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix iSmKit Issues

1. Fix iSmKit Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart iSmKit: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the iSmKit App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "iSmKit" » Open iSmKit » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for iSmKit » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear iSmKit app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from iSmKit servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "iSmKit" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check iSmKit app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, iSmKit might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall iSmKit. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall iSmKit then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing iSmKit not working


2. Fix iSmKit Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make iSmKit be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to iSmKit not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, iSmKit may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
