1. I wanted to make sure I was respectful of others in the class, and now I have better confidence in that.Awesome app !!! I was considering buying a sound level meter to measure the noise of my motorcycle exhausts and horns... Many of the reviews mentioned that a simple app on your phone was more accurate, so I figured it was worth a try.....very happy with the way this works .....I also downloaded their digital compass and it's so much better than the last one that I tried it's hard to believe how much better it is... !!!It seems to me, this app is a very good reference for approximate sound levels.
2. The developers seem to adhere to the Keep It Simple Stupid and that's a great sign for the app's ease of use and reliability.Very nice little sound meter.
3. Others seem like they "adjust" to the level of sound, and even if I add noise they'll stay around 40-50db.
4. Plus, the UI is the best I've seen; nice, basic, and easy to read quickly.I am impressed!! One thing that I ESPECIALLY like is that this app uses my phone's built-in microphone even if I have my Bluetooth headset turned on -- which saves me the inconvenience of having to turn off the headset to use the app.
5. I would like to measure sound levels with the screen off, and without it ruining the lowest recorded dB level.
6. It's not a super high tech sound meter, but for a quick reference of sound levels, it does the job very nicely.
7. Good thinking, developers!! Now, if only it had the option to turn the display upside-down - that way the display would appear righside-up to me when I'm holding my phone to point the microphone outward.Exactly what I needed.
8. I took off 1 star, due to the slight shakiness of the meter's "needle." Maybe it's supposed to be that way? And, when I tried to calibrate it...in a room with absolute no sounds, it messed with the performance, so I reinstalled it.
9. Nice description of the different sound levels.
10. Once I calibrated it to read 0 in a totally noise free atmosphere, it seems to work fairly well.
11. The sound level descriptions were much more meaningful for me than just numbers.
