WINNES GPS Customer Insights

1. I have spent the last two days trying to install the SIM card, set the GPS accuracy, sort out whatever an APN is (they asume you know) etc and its still showing the tracker 150 meters from where I am! You are asked to change the initial password from 123456.

2. I'm in the UK, so the history option is now useless, & it's the most used function.The translations are not very accurate, but the service is great.The app shows the item as offline and the only way to wake it up is to call the unit to wake up so you can track.

3. Tried everything, its still not showing the position right.Gps recently been offline... Keeps happening very annoying put me off buying this GPS and it wasn't cheap either... No safety confidence 😔Excellent little device, basic app.

4. If you use both sms and the apps to command, sometimes you have to log out of thw app and log back in to reset the dashboard.Very useful, free app and service to interact with GPS tracking units, with a google map interface on your phone or tablet.

5. More than impressed considering this is a non subscription service... Once you set it up correctly by configuring the commands through the two way handshake, the rest is easy as all set parameters are executed perfectly when triggered.

6. If you want to know where your Cat IS and really was buy something else! Historymode shows your cat moving through solid walls! Tracking seems to be random with sometimes more than 10 min.

7. Need more explanation in the manual for thingsUnreliable! Cat long time home! Tracker ( Realtime mode 30 sec refresh) shows him 100 m.

8. Tracks live, plays back historical journeys, sensor works well, battery needs charging every 10 days or less.

9. The most crucial part is using same network SIMs and configuring the APN settings otherwise pretty easy to setup.

10. out! Last tracking more than 10 MINUTES ago!!! If you just roughly want to know where your cat HAS been this is for you.

11. The app works eventually, but leaves plenty of time for someone to steal my vehicle without me knowing!An acceptable app that works with the devices it's designed for.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WINNES GPS Issues

1. Fix WINNES GPS Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WINNES GPS: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WINNES GPS App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WINNES GPS" » Open WINNES GPS » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WINNES GPS » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WINNES GPS app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WINNES GPS servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WINNES GPS" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WINNES GPS app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WINNES GPS might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WINNES GPS. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WINNES GPS then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WINNES GPS not working


2. Fix WINNES GPS Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WINNES GPS be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WINNES GPS not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WINNES GPS may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I found the instructions that came with the tracker in the Box and I have a SIM card inserted from speed talk it's GSM. But it's constantly saying it's offline and cannot send commands.. can you resolve this issue for me please?

  • Cannot open the historical route in the app, only started using it today but tried to see the routes that I took an hour prior, not showing anything. Just closing and going to my mobile front apps page, can you explain how to use this, I've downloaded the how to use the app pdf and did as it said but nothing, if the tracker is on stationary or battery saving mode

  • I have two GPS Tracker, the oldes a TK905, always perfect but in the last week the function "live" doesn't function.
    It response to all commands, SMS and App command, I can track the GPS but not with live option.
    The second one, is new, a TK913. It never function. I use a Things Mobile SIM card. I check with theyr customer service anche the SIM is ok, I put it on a phone and it receive messagge. On the tracker it doesn't. The map always show me China and the offline status.
    Can you help me on both?

  • my gps winnes tracker has stopped responded to my txt to find its location and it does not show location or journey of the tracker since 12.41pm today even though i know the tracker was on the motorway from 1pm until 3.45pm and the tracker was physically moved around.
    the winnes app has not detected any movement since 12.41pm today nor have the txt mesg reply. the sim card has credit on it since this morning. what is wrong?????

  • I am not getting a gprs or apn signal on my winnes tk901. I have sent the admin messages and apn messages but am not receiving the automated replied to say these have worked. The app will track my phone but with not track the winnes tracker.

  • I have bought the winnes gps. I have got it so I can text it and it gives a position. Ringing the sim does nothing and your app is completely useless.

    It's permanently stuck in offline. Thinks I'm in China. Please fix or I will be sending back to amazon

  • Hello!
    Today I tried to activate the GPS Tracker TK901. The blue and the yellow LED burn only permanent for a view minutes. Than it turns off. I use a congstar prepaid card. I erased the PIN, activated data and installed the Winnes app on my phone. There is no connection.The tells always the tracker isnt activated. SMS and phonecall gets no reply. Absolute not knowing what else to do.

  • I have bought a gos tracker model TK905.
    I have inserted SIM card with all necessary settings (no PIN, no voicemail etc). The sms commands work. The calling command to get the gps position work.
    But the Winnes GPS app does not work. The tracker appears to be registered there but it shows the message “Not Enabled”.
    What can I do to make it work in order to use all the tracker’s features (voice monitor, real time location on map etc)?

  • Hi have just received the GPS tracker TK911 along with the SIM card Things Mobile. I have activated the card, disabled the PIN etc... and then I have inserted it in the device. It just worked the first time that I sent the message G123456# and I have received the position. But then, every time I send a message from my Iphone, it says that the message can not be delivered...
