1. It seems to especially struggle with staying connected when going from wifi to data and vice versa.Please fix the issue of not getting any phone notifications when the VPN is on.

2. I have recommended ExpressVPN to so many people and now I feel bad since they can no longer solve the problem with spending time in China! VERY DISSAPPOINTED!Whenever I try to login to the app I get an error message saying 'Check connection and try again later'.

3. I'm supposedly connected to an East Coast USA server (tried different ones), but I get search results and newsfeeds for Australia.This app is a waste of money.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ExpressVPN Issues

1. Fix ExpressVPN Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ExpressVPN: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ExpressVPN App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ExpressVPN" » Open ExpressVPN: Fast & Secure VPN » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ExpressVPN » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ExpressVPN: Fast & Secure VPN app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ExpressVPN servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ExpressVPN: Fast & Secure VPN" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ExpressVPN app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ExpressVPN might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ExpressVPN. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ExpressVPN then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ExpressVPN not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ExpressVPN be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.

  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ExpressVPN may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
