1. Every time I open it (when I know there's an alert in my area), I get a notification (through Android system notifications) that says "This is required to send your current location status to the server." Tapping on the notification simply takes me into the CodeRED app.
2. Useless! (I have granted all location permissions in settings, to no avail.)After reading the description of the app I learned that the account to sign up for my community is a different account than what the app uses.
3. Upon restarting it, it asked me to sign in again, then responded "Your request could not be completed" The issue is probably the servers got overloaded, but that's the issue with an emergency app designed and tested under normal circumstances, but only really used in abnormal ones.I had originally given this app 2 stars back in 2019.
4. What is the point of a code red alert app that doesn't alert? My review is one of many saying it doesn't work anymore yet nothing is being done to correct it.
5. It doesn't request the system permission to access location data at all times, so it only notifies when you open the app.
6. Unfortunately, most of the time, it doesn't work.As many reviewers have been saying, this app used to be great but it no longer works.
7. This morning it was a water main break that had been fixed in a town 30 miles from me, and of course yesterday it was the fact that that same water break had happened! There should be a way to just turn on the most extreme weather related or abduction related emergencies.
8. It seems my choices are to turn on my location for this app's convenience, get alerts from the whole country, or uninstall.
9. It's a great concept, but terrible implementation, and I will provide the feedback to my subscribing governments, too, in hopes they can get the change my review won't.Worked fine until needed.
10. As is I guess I'll just have to check the app when I already know something is happening: Info, instead of an alert function.Good idea, but the app has no control over what my nearby towns think is an emergency.
11. That's even more upsettingThe app won't allow me to just set areas I want to monitor, instead asking every several seconds for access to my location.
