mydlink Lite Customer Insights

1. This cannot be legal.Camera works great, records and I'm able to access it, however the user interface is poorly designed, it's very hard to play videos and understand the chronology, it's very difficult to search for a particular moment withoy having to spend massive amounts of time and take notes almost not worth it unless it's a crimeTotal joke... this app can't even connect to a local DCS-942L on the same wifi network.

2. When we first got the camera installed and the app downloaded early 2018, it worked great! I could connect every time! Now the app won't connect to the camera most of the time or it freezes and disconnects after a few minutes.

3. I also have app sending me text notification when a movement is detected and it is right on time!I pulled down my negative feedback explaining how I had a house full of cameras but was still broken into because I couldn't connect to them and check my alerts.

4. This could of been a great experience but with these major problems it's not worth the time that you'll be trying to get it to work properly.Have had my DCS-2132L cameras for several years.

5. We've been holding out for another app update but, I think it might be time to go with a new camera...This app needs to be updated badly.

6. However, I still get sound and motion alerts from each camera letting me know someone could be breaking in again... But I won't know for sure until I drive 6 hours to see for myself... I love surprises!I dont know whats going on with this camera.

9. It keeps bitching about a password mismatch, which is total horseshit since I can log into the camera via it's built in web page and a 3rd party app with ease.

10. When I had to change to MyDlink Lite app exclusively on my cell phone, I lost the ability to get the snapshot email, but I still get an e-mail notifying me of the detected movement.

11. Basically if you want to enable motion detection good luck turning it off when you get back into the settings.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix mydlink Lite Issues

1. Fix mydlink Lite Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart mydlink Lite: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the mydlink Lite App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "mydlink Lite" » Open mydlink Lite » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for mydlink Lite » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear mydlink Lite app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from mydlink Lite servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "mydlink Lite" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check mydlink Lite app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, mydlink Lite might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall mydlink Lite. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall mydlink Lite then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing mydlink Lite not working


2. Fix mydlink Lite Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make mydlink Lite be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to mydlink Lite not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, mydlink Lite may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
