I hope they improve the servers/system they use because it's a very convenient feature if it worksI upgraded to the new module and it has a much faster response but after setting the geo fencing ( enter and exit) I get a text message that the vehicle has moved on my cell phone..my old module set off a siren to alert me when the vehicle moved or was speeding.

2. The fact that you have to go to the status screen and manually update it to find out basic info that would be visible on a standard two way fob is a serious miss.Works alright but you need to keep the app opened and screen on while it's sending the command.

3. It seems like a bug developers should have been able to address by now, but i have to go through customer service to be allowed access to my own remote start system.Replaced my key FOB with this app and the smart start module.

4. However, that's unreliable.The idea of being able to start your car from your cell phone is great.

5. It always says "check that vehicle is in a place where cell coverage is available"..I live in Chicago so needless to say there is an overwhelming abundance of cell towers..cell coverage is not the issue.

6. Why wouldn't they show the vehicle status on the dashboard with the icons? Seems like a really obvious thing to do, if the car is running, show that its running; if its locked/unlocked, show it.

7. Oct 10- I reduced 2 stars because I have to touch the smart start button 2 or 3 times to start it and still have not been fixed and am not getting notifications.

8. Upon checking the location alerts, they are way off! When I perform a map check of where my vehicle is live, it works.

9. I hate that the dash doesn't show car status (running, armed, etc...). It's only shows it in the car settings and you have to refresh constantly.

10. A lot of times it glitches while I'm driving or I'm in the highway and it start sending me codes that I started my car or turned on my engine and lock the door.

11. This way you dont need to keep a device reader in your vehicle port to get GPS.

1. Fix Viper SmartStart Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Viper SmartStart: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Viper SmartStart App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Viper SmartStart" » Open Viper SmartStart » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Viper SmartStart » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Viper SmartStart app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Viper SmartStart servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Viper SmartStart" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Viper SmartStart app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Viper SmartStart might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Viper SmartStart. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Viper SmartStart then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Viper SmartStart not working

2. Fix Viper SmartStart Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Viper SmartStart be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Viper SmartStart not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Viper SmartStart may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
