Chipolo Customer Insights

1. But it doesn't really work for shared things, like a shared car key, or the TV remote, because the sharing feature doesn't let others use the "ring to find", which is my primary usage.

2. (I tried using the same chipolo account in multiple phones to circumvent this, but that didn't work either as it "unlogs" the other phone).When it works it is very helpful but the is only about 50% of the time.

3. I decided to test it out with the free trial and it just works.If your phone gets out of range of the Chipolo, the app disconnects them and you get a message.

4. Takes at least a minute to find the device with your phone even, then there is no option to ring the device, only "mark as lost", even if the device is right next to you.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Chipolo Issues

1. Fix Chipolo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Chipolo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Chipolo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Chipolo" » Open Chipolo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Chipolo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Chipolo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Chipolo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Chipolo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Chipolo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Chipolo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Chipolo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Chipolo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Chipolo not working


2. Fix Chipolo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Chipolo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Chipolo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Chipolo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
