1. I go back into the app to select it, it prompts me to go to the accessibility settings in my phone, but there I see the message "Not working, tap for info" which leads to "This service is malfunctioning."Easy to access, use, install--and it's FREE! Properly set up, your emergency contact and vital medical info is always visible/available on your smartphones home screen, even if the phone/screen is locked.

2. Without the lock screen access, the app is little more than a notepad to organize ones medical infoHas a good concept and idea, but it has the widget placed right on the time/date on your lock screen.

3. Not a bug you want to have when an emergency happens and the widget is not on your screen.A great concept for an app, that does it's job well.

4. First of all, it is extremely difficult to double tap the widget on the lock screen because it moves so easily when touched.

5. If you are unconscious, the EMT/ER people can get your basic medical info on you without having access to the rest of your phone.

6. In an emergency, they can access info stat from the screen.

7. It DID have a few glitches where the widget disappeared from the lock screen.

8. In the past week or so, the app banner on the lock screen does not display.

9. The fact that you can have access on a locked screen is perfect.

10. I keep my phone locked and have the icon on the locked screen.

11. I tried changing my time settings but it doesn't give a option to move my clock anywhere else.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Medical ID Issues

1. Fix Medical ID Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Medical ID: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Medical ID App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Medical ID" » Open Medical ID » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Medical ID » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Medical ID app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Medical ID servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Medical ID" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Medical ID app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Medical ID might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Medical ID. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Medical ID then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Medical ID not working


2. Fix Medical ID Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Medical ID be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Medical ID not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Medical ID may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
