Caltex NZ Customer Insights

1. You are only able to login to one card at a time; for example, if you and your partner have two seperate cards and would like to see both card's savings, it is not possible.I switched to caltex when AA Rewards stopped.

2. The session time out needs fixing now.I have used this app a LOT it is easy to use and automatically adds my discounts to my purchases including Airpoints and my gold card.

3. Caltex know I have email attached 2 card why not just send email??????Can't even register.

4. The hold on the card doesn't often come back for many days and customer service did not care.

5. 1st off, the session timeout doesn't automatically cancel the hold on your card.

6. Though, you still cannot use the barcode scanner to scan your card in, you still have to input your card number manually.

7. Then it would be accurate and make me feel better about Caltex.Easy to use, can see the cheapest petrol close to my location and can earn air points at the same timeOmg! What a rigmarole.

8. You select to login with email (no register option, only login) it says it will send you a link.

9. Hmmm One of cards I use is a BNZ Business card, not recognised on my phone.

10. I linked my card to the app and get a screen with a barcode, which presumably means it's good to go.

11. So the app puts a hold on the card and then session times out.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Caltex NZ Issues

1. Fix Caltex NZ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Caltex NZ: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Caltex NZ App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Caltex NZ" » Open Caltex NZ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Caltex NZ » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Caltex NZ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Caltex NZ servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Caltex NZ" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Caltex NZ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Caltex NZ might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Caltex NZ. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Caltex NZ then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Caltex NZ not working


2. Fix Caltex NZ Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Caltex NZ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Caltex NZ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Caltex NZ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
