What users are saying

1. Good search news for more up to date, reliable and credible information on the Coronavirus 19 as the CDC puts little to no effort in an app it is supposedly pushing.Ever since the COVID-19 Coronavirus struck the U.S., I want to be more informed and so I installed the CDC app so I can be so.

2. I don't need to read a bunch of political BS before getting to the useful information and data! This is really a shameful decline and I will be uninstalling and getting my health and safety information elsewhere.Has great potential.

3. When you check your states info goes to an error page.Classic CDC, the information is outdated, misinformed and lacks any truly credible knowledge.

4. Local alerts and information would greatly increase the useful aspects of the app.I've had this app for maybe a year or two before the Covid-19 pandemic.

5. Considering how important this app should be it really sucks in getting the info you need...App does not stay up to date.

6. It used to always be fact and science based, focusing on what you need to know to stay safe! However, recently the "articles" have been touting Trump's "strong and swift action" in dealing with this virus.

7. The app falls short in information and in many ways it's easier to navigate the CDC website.

8. You see a topic and you cick on it and it takes you to page that does not continue the article and you can't find where the continuation of the article is.

9. My google web browser lends more useful up to date info than this app does.

10. there's a whole bunch of information about nothing and I can't get the information I'm looking for.

11. The CDC direct website is easier to navigate with factual details than this half-assed attempt of an app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix CDC Issues

1. Fix CDC Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart CDC: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the CDC App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "CDC" » Open CDC » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for CDC » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear CDC app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from CDC servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "CDC" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check CDC app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, CDC might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall CDC. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall CDC then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing CDC not working

2. Fix CDC Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make CDC be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to CDC not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, CDC may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
