1. And it also feels like that once every three times I start the app it forces me to update the app before I can actually start using it - I don't care if the version I have installed is two weeks old, I just want to quickly turn the smoker on and set the temperature.

2. Why is it so difficult?I have two (RT-1250 and RT-390), and as long as you keep your temperature probes inside clean and free of grease, they work beautifully.

3. Otherwise, it works great! I was able to start my grill from my friends house the other night.

4. Bad UI and forced updates! Takes a lot of unnecessary steps to get where I need to go when I just want to start and monitor the smoker.

5. Then after 3 days of troubleshooting, I tried this on my work phone and it worked flawlessly.

6. I like the idea behind the app and being able to remote start the smoker is great.

7. It goes back to the set point and stays within 5 degreesI've never gotten the WiFi to work.

8. Not sure if it's a Pixel thing or an Android app thing, but the iPhone app seems to work much better.Unfortunately, the app is flawed.

9. What's crazy is I have Thermo Pro probes that work just fine so I know it's the one with the grill that's not working correctly.

10. Dual band and using 2.4 Gh with WiFi extender doesn't help either.

11. So cool! Lastly, It'd be nice to have a faster way to change temperature as hitting the little +/- buttons are a bit clunky.This app was OK for a while when I first got my RT-700.

1. Fix recteq Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart recteq: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the recteq App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "recteq" » Open recteq » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for recteq » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear recteq app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from recteq servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "recteq" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check recteq app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, recteq might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall recteq. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall recteq then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing recteq not working

2. Fix recteq Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make recteq be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to recteq not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, recteq may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
