1. This feature would be great, so I wouldn't have to dig for my card every time I get on the bus.For the last 3 years I've used the app with some issues but nothing massive (some bugs with saving favorite stops, doesn't track buses super successfully, etc.) But recently I stopped being able to load money onto my card, I just get an error message.
2. In a city as big as Chicago, their primary transport app should not have this many critical issues.Freezes regularly, particularly when switching from WiFi to 4G with the app open, and every time it freezes it deletes my favorited stops, which is a huge pain.
3. The app's very useful information and features are marred by a consistently buggy user experience.Had to walk for 45 minutes, after my 8 hour work shift, in the cold, because suddenly this app won't stay open for more than 5 seconds before it crashes.
4. Edit2: The lasted update seems to have fixed the issue.The Ventra App is one big pain in the ass!!!! Just purchased a new phone and the app has to be uninstalled and reinstalled on a daily basis!!! Had the same problem with the Ventra app on my old phone.
5. Only two complaints I got is that when you want to view the map, it will spam the dialog to turn on Google location services, even though I have GPS on.
6. I also can no longer add money or passes to my card from this app: I receive an error message every time.
7. I used this app just the other day with no issues! Not that I'm surprised, reliable isn't exactly the first word that comes to mind when one hears "Ventra" or "CTA".The new version is still desperately slow.
8. Seems there is a server side issue causing client side crashes.
9. I prefer not to turn on Google location services to preserve my battery life.
10. When you 'favorite' a stop, it appears on your home menu, but if the route changes even temporarily, the 'favorite' says "no information available" and you can't remove it from your favorites.
11. Couldn't get it to stay open long enough to put money on my card, so no bus ride home.
As a European citizen, under GDPR, I hereby respectfully request my account data to be deleted. Kind regards
