1. I'm a fourth year medical student and have been using UpToDate as a quick reference as well as an efficient portal for learning about a wide range of topics without having to manually assemble reviews papers or the like.

2. The brilliant content cannot be but acknowledged, but the app experience can be better.Like many other reviews mention, for the past few weeks when using this app I have add issues with the scroll function while perusing articles.

3. Currently my institute is providing me the subscription but i ll buy it after i graudate from medschoolThis new update made the app umusable.like search doesnt work i cant see topic outlines freezes in the middle of scroling ...etc .i need a roll backGreat source! But few problems: 1.

4. With any luck Wolters Kluwer will amend this oversight and add modest 'quality of life' features before long.The offline content update process is absolutely rubbish.

5. As a result, I'm greeted with a abrasively bright screen and white background when I'm trying to do some quick reading in the darkened wards and resident lounges of the hospital at night.

6. The app does not function with Android Dark/Night settings, and the app itself does not have a simple toggle to even invert the background and text colors.

7. Even in areas of content that are lacking, as indicated above, the well-cited articles provide an excellent starting point for any educational inquiry.

8. Some large algorithms are low quality and not clear when zoomed in (using SVG may improve both night mode and algorithm resolution).

9. When ever i try to scroll through the article as i read, the text vibrates up and down rapidly due to the article directory toolbar at the top rapidly loading and unloading the subsection name.

10. Please fix or disable this in the meantime (or at least an option to) as its nauseating.Flickering / flashing of text when title bar changes is distracting.

11. For the overall quality, not to mention price, of this service, I would expect more flexibility in viewing options beyond a font scale slider.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix UpToDate Issues

1. Fix UpToDate Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart UpToDate: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the UpToDate App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "UpToDate" » Open UpToDate » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for UpToDate » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear UpToDate app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from UpToDate servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "UpToDate" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check UpToDate app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, UpToDate might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall UpToDate. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall UpToDate then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing UpToDate not working


2. Fix UpToDate Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make UpToDate be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to UpToDate not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, UpToDate may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
