Bite Customer Insights

1. If you are patient enough to work with the app to order something, the UI is completely unintuitive as well.It works fine for me... My school only uses the menu functionality and it takes too many clicks to get to & is confusing to read but it tells you what's for dinner... My biggest concern is that this app takes up 120MB on my phone which is absolutely insane! I can't fathom how they managed to even do that!Very buggy.

2. We also should not have to scroll through every single menu item for each meal, it would be helpful to collapse at least every meal section (ie click to expand to see breakfast or lunch rather than having to scroll past everything for breakfast to see lunch).If I could give this app zero stars, I would.

3. What's the point of an app designed to show you a menu that can't show menus?I've literally never written a review for an app before but holy cow this one takes the take.

4. The pop-up says that there's a bug in the app keeping it from opening properly.Using this app makes me feel like I'm going insane it just keeps crashing and I have to keep opening it over and over and over and over and over and over again until it works.

5. It takes numerous attempts to get the app to open and there's frequently a "background crash" notification in my system notifications about it.

6. I have never had an app crash in its entire lifespan as many times this bite app crashes just trying to open it.This app worked for the past two semester with minimal issue, however now it won't even open the app.

7. The "menus" button at the bottom of the screen doesn't work at all.

8. Random error messages popping up EVERY TIME I use the app as well as randomly crashing when I put more than two items in one order.

9. I've even enabled developer mode and "show layout bounds" to see if the button was clickable.

10. It's just completely unusable! It freezes anytime you try to click on any option, sometimes just crashing.

11. It'll show the logo and then crash— my phone gives an error about a bug and then that's it.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Bite Issues

1. Fix Bite Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Bite: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Bite App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Bite" » Open Bite by Sodexo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Bite » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Bite by Sodexo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Bite servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Bite by Sodexo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Bite app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Bite might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Bite. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Bite then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Bite not working


2. Fix Bite Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Bite be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Bite not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Bite may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
