1. I don't want to wait another 6 months for the next big update... So, could you just push the original notification sounds to the app? If not, at least make them available as a download on your website so we can add them ourselves.

2. THAT'S GREAT! But I really liked the original Button Press (doorbell sound) and Motion Detected (Tinkerbell) sounds.

3. ******************EDIT* WOW...that was fast! Thanks for making the original sounds available to download on Skybell's website only two days after my request.

4. Cons : motion detection (worthless at the moment), connecting to doorbell rings is spotty even with a stellar connection.Every update seems to remove more and more features.

5. This was working fine when I initially bought it, but now, even when turned off in the app, I get a notification for motion alert.

6. This was an easy operation for me, but those that are less "techie" may still struggle to restore the sounds to their devices.I almost didn't get this because of all the bad reviews but I figured I'll try it out and if all goes bad, then I'll just return it.

7. The hardware is good, but have been very disappointed in the app development.I've given up on Skybell, it's constantly not connecting, not recording, not ringing, you simply never know when it's going to work.

8. This update now allows us to customize the notification sounds to whatever we want them to be.

9. But now it has been disconnected for over a week! It will not connect! When I try to go into settings I get an error message! Worst $200 I've ever spent! I have fixed the problem.

10. I never had a problem with it until the notification sounds were removed in March (I think).

11. I then tested the doorbell and the notifications were restored to their original sounds.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SkyBell (Legacy) Issues

1. Fix SkyBell (Legacy) Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SkyBell (Legacy): Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SkyBell (Legacy) App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SkyBell (Legacy)" » Open SkyBell (Legacy) » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SkyBell (Legacy) » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SkyBell (Legacy) app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SkyBell (Legacy) servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SkyBell (Legacy)" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SkyBell (Legacy) app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SkyBell (Legacy) might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SkyBell (Legacy). If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SkyBell (Legacy) then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SkyBell (Legacy) not working


2. Fix SkyBell (Legacy) Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SkyBell (Legacy) be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SkyBell (Legacy) not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SkyBell (Legacy) may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
